Annual Festival

Fellowship and Learning

Ever since GCI, formerly WCG, has had a presence in New Zealand, annual festivals, where members and congregations meet together, have been held at locations throughout New Zealand. Most recently these have been in Ngongotaha and at Waikanae.

Most years, we like to gather at a central location in late September or early October for a week of fellowship, fun, learning and Worship. There are sermons, discussions, activities - all centred on general Christian themes.

2021 Festival

The 2021 Festival will be in Holdens Bay, near Rotorua

from October 13-17.

The venue is Keswick Christian Camp. Our theme this year is "GCI Celebration of Faith," in line with 2021 being designated by our Home Office to focus on Faith (Discipleship).

GCI's annual festival has been the highlight of the church's calendar since its inauguration in New Zealand in 1969, in Taupo.  Each year it is a time for celebrating Christ's presence and working in our lives, his love for each person and the mission he sends the Church to.  It is a time of teaching and equipping, of worship, and of being strengthened spiritually for life and service.  And it is also a time of fellowship, renewing friendships and making new ones.

Festival Dates & Service Times:

This year's festival has been positioned in the fortnight of school holidays from 13 to 17 October.

Travel Information

Rotorua is easily accessed by road, and a major tourist destination, so there are a number of options for travel, if you are not going by car.

AIR: Rotorua is the closest regional airport. We do not expect that international travel will be open sufficiently by October 2021 to enable overseas visitors.

ROAD: If travelling by car, Rotorua is 93 km from Hamilton, 227 km from Auckland (about 3 hours), and 452 km from Wellington (5 3/4 hrs).

ACCOMMODATION: There is accommodation on-site (details from your pastor), and a good selection of motels and hotels in Rotorua. If staying on-site you will enjoy open fields, good walks, and the convenience of proximity to the airport and several of Rotorua's attractions. The city of Rotorua is only a 5-minute drive from the camp. Keswick Christian Camp has bunk rooms, 6-berth cabins and 9-berth log cabins. Food is available on-site for those staying, and meals can also be booked by those only intending to be there as day visitors.

REGISTRATION: Registration is by email or post. Please contact us if you would like a form sent to you.
