Annual Celebration

Fellowship and Learning

Ever since GCI, formerly WCG, has had a presence in New Zealand, annual gatherings (previously known as festivals), where members and congregations meet together, have been held at locations throughout New Zealand. Most recently these have been in Ngongotaha and at Waikanae.

Most years, we like to gather at a central location in late September or early October for a week of fellowship, fun, learning and Worship. There are sermons, discussions, activities - all centred on general Christian themes.

2021 Celebration

The 2021 Celebration was intended to be in Holdens Bay, near Rotorua from October 13-17.

However due to Covid-19 restrictions this was then held online. Recordings were made available to participants.

2022 Celebration

8-11 September 2022

Ngongotaha

GCI's annual denominational gathering has been the highlight of the church's calendar since its inauguration in New Zealand in 1969, in Taupo.  Each year it is a time for celebrating Christ's presence and working in our lives, his love for each person and the mission he sends the Church to.  It is a time of teaching and equipping, of worship, and of being strengthened spiritually for life and service.  And it is also a time of fellowship, renewing friendships and making new ones.

Celebration Dates & Service Times:

The latest  denominational Celebration, in 2022, was held in September in Ngongotaha, not far from the tourist destination of Rotorua. We were fortunate to be able to secure a booking at venue previously used after our first-planned venue was no longer available (because of the pandemic).
